Hackathons at Asset Performance 4.0
The hackathons of Asset Performance 4.0 have officially started. At the end of last March, Aquafin and Fluvius have presented their cases for more than 100 interested participants.

 

But: you can still participate !

You can view the webinar recording, read all about the challenges, and work on your own solution (with your company, alone, or with people you meet on the hackathon platform).

 

What do you need to do?

3. Work on your solution and add it to the Projects-page of the webinar link before 31 May 2020

 

What can you win?

1. Per hackathon, 3 finalists are chosen. They present their solution at the Asset Performance 4.0 Conference. The overall winner per hackathon receives an award and certificate provided by the organizers.

2. There is also a prize for Best overall idea, provided by Antler. The most innovative idea gets a fast-track application in the Antler program, meaning you go straight to the interview round to get further funding for your idea. You can read more about it on the hackathon pages.
Aquafin:
Failure prediction based on sensor data of pump stations
Goal:
Aquafin wants to be able to schedule urgent maintenance better during working hours and thus generally have smarter planning and more efficient operations with a better work/life balance as a result.Aquafin wishes to investigate whether blockages or other disruptions can be predicted with sufficient reliability using intelligent data analysis techniques.

Functionalities:

  • The algorithm should detect malfunctioning pumps in a simple, easy to explain way
  • The algorithm should be generally applicable
  • The proposed solution should be easily integratable into the existing Aquafin datastructure : it has an open architecure or uses standard industry software (e.g. IBM Maximo)
  • The proposed solution is easily scalable so it can be used on a larger scale and in more pump stations
  • A visualisation of your algorithm must be included in the Submission

Fluvius: Create a reporting tool for field asset data collection and review on the field
Goal:

A first case is directly triggered by the need of flexibility (caused by the merger) during the next 5 years. Different tools, working methods and financial structures make it difficult to collect (new or corrected) useful data on-the-field for asset management purposes. Fluvius is looking for an easy to use tool or app where technicians can report anomalies and failures.

Functionalities:

  • The solution makes it possible to report asset anomalies and failures, including photos on-the-field
  • The solution is able to store asset data and photos
  • The solution can be used in-the-field (smartphone, laptop, tablet)
  • The solution can handle new datasets containing
    • An identifier
    • Textlines, predefined dropdowns, check boxesA
  • The solution allows (multiple) small data collection/review orders (± 10.000 records max)
  • The solution can export the data (common text format for data, other for photos)
  • The field can report failures quick and easy, an identifier is not necessarily needed.
  • Preferable solution: low cost easy-to-use and on-the-shelf tool as its purpose is short term
